For a leading international manufacturer of products in the material processing field we are recruiting for an
Application Engineer – Automotive (VW)
You will be the technical- and commercial business link between the automotive customer (VW Group) and our client for a range of projects and developments.
The products they (custom) design and manufacture are used a.o. for noise damping, acoustic improvements, reinforcing applications, thermal insulation and sealing solutions in the automotive industry, (NVH). The automotive division is a strategic business unit of our multinational client which operates in the development and production of high-end technical (chemical) BtB-applicatons.
In this challenging position you will support the R&D department, the internal key-account teams, the automotive test center, as well as the automotive customer (VW Group) with technical projects and the latest developments. This position is based in Wolfsburg.
The function:
- You provide technical support to our international automotive sales team and the customers in order to solve the problems of the customer
- You find new applications for our existing products and keep an open eye for innovation opportunities.
- You present our products and solutions to the customer and keep them informed about our product evolution
- You follow up customer technical requests and help to set the requirements for successful future products
- You built and maintain an internal network (European and worldwide) for sharing information and solutions (KAM, AE, R&D, ATC)
- You act as a linking pin between the automotive customer, sales management, Automotive Technical Center and R&D.
- You will assist, coach and support these collegues in different projects
Your profile:
- You have a university degree with an interest for technical matters, supplemented with experience in one or more of the following fields: mechanical engineering, polymers, plastics, acoustics & vibration engineering.
- You have strong presentation and communication skills in German and English
- You are proactive, innovative and able to think out of the box. Furthermore you have a strong technical-commercial feeling. You are a team player but you can also work independently
- You work from an office location close to the customer location but you’re willing to travel frequently to the ATC’s and KAM/(S)AE in Europe
- Relevant working experience with an existing network in the field of automotive is a strong plus.
