For one of our international clients, which develops and produces NVH – and sealing products for the automotive industry, we are currently looking for a professional for the strategic position of:
Global Account Manager VW Group
The main objective of this challenging international position is the implementation of structures, processes and budget to manage sales and especially sales of new products and markets in the automotive industry within the strategic client.
Our client develops and produces NVH- and sealing products for the automotive industry. To develop new products the company has an extensive R&D department and several Automotive Technical Centers (ATC) throughout Europe.
The GAM VW Group is responsible to manage a global account plan that includes the total product portfolio for one or more global accounts (all VW brands) with special focus on new products, new markets even in the long run.
The GAM is leader in the new product development/introduction to our client’s organization in order to find new business opportunities
Manage the global VW Group account plan and the global account team in executing strategy to realize growth of sales by standard products and new developed technologies.
Key Result Area’s
Identify customer’s strategic challenges, design solutions, and initiate strategic changes in planning, structures and processes.
- Understand the customer: analyse public information
- Set up the global account team (internal and external, cross functional (scientists, sales managers, engineers))
- Define the strategy and business parameters
- Share information, give daily orders and advises to the team
Decide upon introduction and implementation of new products, in order to have a constant up-to-date and state-of-the-art product portfolio.
- Initiate and follow-up R&D procedures
- Create the product strategy and define strategy development projects
- Introduce products at customers for testing
- Closely follow up market success of newly introduced products and, if suitable, adapt the product strategy
- Manage actively the Global Account Team in order to realize the goals set in the market strategy.
Positioning
- You report to the General Manager Automotive
- You give guidance to a global team of approximately 8 professionals (sales managers, key account managers, scientists, engineers)
- Report sales results, status of development of projects and customer activities on global scale on a regular basis.
Requirements
- Masters degree (business economics – engineering)
- experience with the Global Account – VW Group is a must
- technical knowledge (application engineering)
- marketing and sales background/business administration
- multilingual (English, German (native))
- people management skills
- willingness to travel
The ideal candidate for the function Global Account Manager should have at least 5-10 years working experience in marketing & sales environment with additional technical skills background and project management.
